MUSLIM COMMUNITIES PAY HOMAGE TO GBONG GWOM JOS, SOLICIT INTERVENTION WITH THE GOVERNOR ON ABANDONED PROJECTS
The Muslim communities in Jos and Bukuru metropolis, has paid a sallah homage to the Gbong Gwom Jos his Majesty, Da Jacob Gyang Buba on the 18/6/19. The visit is a traditional annual gesture being exhibited by the Muslim ummah every year.
On this years entourage, were Makaman-Jos, Alh. Hamisu Ali-Jos AIG (rtd) who lead the Ummah to the palace, others who made the entourage includes: Sarkin Bukur, Alh. Nasiru Suleiman and Engr. Mansir Salihu Nakande Maidakalin Jos.
Speaking on behalf of the two communities, Makaman Jos, Ali-Jos, called on the Gbong Gwom to facilitate with the government to complete abandonede roads projects in New Market, Bauchi road, Anguwan rogo-Anguwan Rimi and others that are still not completed, noting, that the Muslim communities have been in support of this administration and has helped in bringing it on board.
Alhji Ali commended His Majesty on his support to the governor, to commence the Jos Terminus market. He further pleaded with the Paramount ruler to support in the fight against drugs intake/trafficking by Youths in the state.
In his own part, the retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, pleaded with the Gbong Gwom to support in the fencing of the Central Eid ground of Ali kazaure in Jos, the Plateau state capital, and the vacant space by the central mosque in Bukur.
Sarkin Bukur Alh. Nasiru Suleiman on his remarks commended the Monarch in his role towards building bridges of peace among communities in the state irrespective of tribe, religion or ethnicity.
He pleaded with the Gbong Gwom Jos, Gyang Buba to restore the initial date for the Sallah visits totally with that of the governor which is the normal tradition.
Thanking the monarch on behalf of the Ummah, Engr. Mansir Nakande Maidakali-Jos appreciated all the moves by the Gbong Gwom Jos in ensuring peace in the state and trying to see that Hausa-Fulani and other Muslim connected tribes are employed in the state civil service.
While responding, the Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, promised to assist the communities by laying the request before, his Excellency, the Executive Governor of Plateau state, Simon Bako Lalong. Adding that he will ensure that, adequate measures are taken on the issues of youths restiveness and drugs abused by Youths across the state.
Highlights of the Sallah homage includes the presentation of “Kolanut” to the royal father and photographs.
The speaker house of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila has thanked the governments and people of Lagos state for giving him a very rousing homecoming reception.
The speaker said this in a tweet while appreciating everyone for their show of love.
