Nigeria is interlocked with corpses, Shehu Sani cries out
Former senator of kaduna Central, senator shehu Sani, has lamented over the killing of an 18-year-old seminarian Michael Nnadi and the wife of a Kaduna-based medical doctor Philip Ataga by their abductors.
Mrs. Ataga and her two children were kidnapped on 24 January by armed men from the family’s residence at Juji, in Chikun LGA of Kaduna state. Nnadi and three other seminarians were kidnapped in the night of 8 January in their seminary, The Good Shepherd Major Seminary, Kaduna. The other kidnapped seminarians, Pius Kanwai, 19, Peter Umenukor, 23, Stephen Amos, 23, were released on Friday.
Mrs. Ataga’s captors were said to have killed her after her family failed to meet their demand of a N150 million ransom for the deceased and two of her children.
The corpses of victims Mrs. Ataga and Nnadi were found dumped by the roadside on Saturday.
Senator Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, condemned the killings in a tweet on Sunday.
“The kidnapping and gruesome killings of 18-year-old Seminarian Mr. Micheal Nnadi & Mrs. Philip Ataga in Kaduna was a despicable evil, stands condemned.
“Our frequencies of tragedies is now without an interval of normalcy.
“The nation is steadily interlocked with d corpses of the innocents,” Senator Sani said.
