President Buhari ordered the deployment of a fighter jet to Niger
President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the repeated attacks by bandits on communities in Niger state and its environs.
The president, has further direct the Nigerian Air Force to deploy its fighter aircraft in checking the menace.
The president gave the directive in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in Abuja on Sunday.
President Buhari described the repeated attacks which led to the loss of several lives in the affected communities “as a disaster for the nation”.
He further ordered for the bombardment of the bandits who have been terrorizing Kaduna, Zamfara and Niger forest thereby making the life of people in those communities restless.
The statement further disclose that, as the harmattan is gradually subsiding, in few days time the airspace will be clear enough for the fighter jets to assist troops in their fight.
The statement said the Niger state police command has also assured of their support to all the security agents deployed to the area.
