Meet 36-year-old Miriam who has given birth to 44 kids from Uganda


A Ugandan woman in her mid 30s have been stopped from having more children after she had given birth to 44 children.

Miriam Nabatanzi, reportedly got married at the age of 12, and before she was 13, she had her first twins.

However, she kept having children in multiples and their birth is almost in quick succession.

Miriam is said to be suffering from a rare genetic condition, and by the time she was 36 she already had 44 children.

The must touching aspect of miriams story is that, she never experienced any love, says her mum had walked out on her and her 4 other siblings. Unfortunately for them her stepmother was constantly poisoning her siblings with glass where all of them later died, she said she was so lucky because she was constantly visiting relatives. And at age 12 she got married.

All through the years she kept given birth to twins, triplets and quardroplates, at a point Miriam asked Drs to stop her from having more kids but they said the could not because the best thing for her to keep doing is having more children since her ovary is large which makes her release multiple eggs during ovulation.

Miriam fell pregnant for the last time about 4 years ago but it was tragic as one of the twins died in the process. Her husband has however, walked out on her living her to carter for the children all alone.

The 36-year-old mother finally found help when a gynecologist Dr Charles K of Malago general hospital Kampala, Uganda finally remove her womb and urged her to stop giving birth.

The struggling mother has been working so hard to feed and send her children to school, she said everything she gets goes to feeding as her husband who was usually absent from the home for a long time had abandoned the for good.

Her 23-year-old daughter has to drop out of school to assist, she said mum is overwhelmed with everything happening and we feel for her. She uses bunk where the children sleep like a boarding school while others use alternative beds in a not so conducive house which has cracked and might fall in no time.

Miriam had 3 sets of quadruplets, 4 sets of triplets and 6 sets of twins in all.
