Sahara reporters have also shared the news of the release of their boss on Instagram. The release was triggered by a video of Sowore’s mother pleasing with president Buhari and the DSS to please release her son for her.

From Victoria Island to Ikorodu Division…Sanwo-Olu Flags Off Rehabilitation of Ijede, Agric-Isawo and Bola Tinubu-Igbogbo Road Network

The train of infrastructure development of the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led Lagos State Government Wednesday moved from the Oniru-Victoria Island-Lekki axis to Ikorodu Division of the state.

Sanwo-Olu, who was accompanied by his Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, and members of his cabinet, flagged off massive rehabilitation and expansion of major roads, such as the upgrading and reconstruction of Owutu-Agric-Isawo, Bola Tinubu-Igbogbo-Imota and Itamaga-Ijede roads.

The three road projects, which are expected to be completed in the next 20 months, are being handled by Messrs Hitech Construction Company and Arab Contractor.

The 11.9 kilometres Ijede Road stretches from Ewu Elepe to Ijede town, cutting across four local councils and 37 communities. The Sanwo-Olu administration awarded the contract for the construction of the first phase of the road, which covers 6.05 kilometres from Itamaga to Ewu Elepe town.

2020 Hajj preparation update as NAHCON officials visits Saudi Arabia

In preparation to the 202 Hajj which is fast approaching, the National Hajj Commission of Nigerias delegation are in Saudi Arabia for the arrangement of the exercise.

During the Jeddah Consulate Preparatory meeting which was held on the 4th December, State Minister, Foreign Affairs Ambassador Zubair Dada, said Foreign Affairs and NAHCON are yearning for seamless 2020 Hajj.

He also added that “let there be strong synergy and partnership in order to achieve the common shared responsibility of Safety, Welfare, Safety and Comfort of Nigerian Pilgrims.” Let’s pledge to serve Allah, Nigeria and Nigerian Pilgrims“.

NAHCON and Foreign Affairs Ministry will join hands and make the Hajj Exercise a big success for Nigeria. We will work together to deliver best services to Nigerians while in Holy Land.

Similarly Nigerian Ambassador to Riyadh, Ambassador Rtd. Justice Dada also stressed the existing teamwork spirit for a bigger success is maintained.

In his remarks, NAHCON’s Commissioner of Operations, Abdullahi Modibbo Saleh, appreciated the position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the display of harmonious relationships between NAHCON and the Ministry. Welfare, safety, and comfort as the sole targets of the federal government delegates.

President Muhammadu Buhari Wednesday in Abuja launched a 59-page National Security Strategy 2019 document with a pledge that his administration ‘‘remains fully and unreservedly committed’’ to achieving a safer and a more secure Nigeria.

The President noted that the various security challenges confronting the country had made it necessary for the articulation of a comprehensive and coordinated response that involved all segments of society and all elements of national power.

The Speaker of Edo state House of Assembly, Francis Okiye, on Wednesday, December 4, declared vacant the seats of 12 members-elect for deliberately refusing to present their certificates of return to the Clerk of the Assembly for inauguration.

Also during plenary, the seats of Messrs Uyi Ekhosuehi and Henry Okaka, representing Oredo East and Owan East respectively, were declared vacant for allegedly absconding from plenary after the inauguration of the Seventh Assembly on June 17.

According to the speaker, even if the lawmakers-elect come for sitting now, they cannot meet the mandatory 180 sitting days as enshrined in the constitution.

The affected members-elect are Vincent Uwadiae, Ovia North-East II; Ugiagbe Dumez, Ovia North-East I; Washington Osifo, Uhunmwode; Victor Edoror, Esan Central; Kingsley Ugabi, Etsako East and Michael Ohio-Ezomo, Owan West.

Others are Sunday Aghedo, Ovia South-West; Chris Okaeben, Oredo West; Crosby Eribo, Egor; Aliyu Oshiomhole, Etsako West II; Oshomah Ahmed, Etsako Central and Ganiyu Audu, Etsako West I.
