Why We Dislodged Illegal Street Traders in Oyingbo Market, By Lagos Commissioner


Lagos State Government Friday explained the reasons for driving traders away from the roads in Oyingbo, noting that all the illegal street traders should relocate back to the main market.

The government, in a statement by the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tunji Bello, said the illegal street traders were responsible for creating traffic bottlenecks and impeding free flow of traffic.

The commissioner charged the Oyingbo market leaders to meet with the Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government immediately to fashion out ways of accommodating the street traders in the main market.

Bello said the state government would no longer condone the excesses of the traders who have abandoned the market for street trading.
