We’re Not Responsible for Production and Issuance of Illegal Number Plate in Kano, FRSC Reacts to ‘Chip Whip’ Saga


Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sunday reacted to the existence of a number plate issued with the wrong spelling of “CHIP WHIP” instead of the correct spelling of CHIEF WHIP to the Kano State House of Assembly.

FRSC, in a statement by its Commander, Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, stated categorically that “the said number plate did not originate from any of the FRSC Number Plate production centres, neither was it issued by the Corps.”

“We are therefore making it abundantly clear to members of the public that FRSC as the lead agency in road traffic management and safety administration in the country has nothing to do with the said number plate as some people are insinuating on some social media platforms.

Federal Government Extend Border Closure Till January 2020.


The federal government has extended the closure on it’s borders to 31st of January 2020, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the extension which will last till early next year.

In a memo obtained by channels tv from the comtroller (Enforcement of the Nigerian customs service (NCS) Mr. Victor Dimka.

The memo was dated 1st November 2019 and was addressed to the sector coordinator of the joint Border operation division 1,2,3 and 4.

Dimka noted that the exercise has recorded an overwhelming success considering it’s a benefit to the nations economy and security.

Nigerian Air Force Kills ISWAP Fighters And Destroyed Their Hideout In Borno


The Nigerian Airforce (NAF) has killed and destroyed the hideouts of some Islamic States Of West Africa Province (ISWAP) members at Arrinna Ciki on the fringes of the Lake chad in Northern part of Borno state.

This information was obtained in a press statement forwarded to channels television by NAF director, public Relations and Information Air Commodor Ibikunle Daramola.

According to Daramola, the operation was possible due to the information obtained by the NAF Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) on the confirmatory reconnaissance mission spotted some vehicles under some trees in the area.

The ATF then scrambled its fighter jets to attack the location which recorded a successful strike to immobilized the vehicles.

9 Returned Kidnapped Kano Children Received N1m Each From Governor Ganduje


Kano state governor Abdullahi Ganduje has awarded the sum of N1million each to the returned children who were earlier abducted and sold in Anambra state.

The governor had given the order to on Thursday when he met the children and their parents. Gov. Ganduje has also approved death penalty for anyone found guilty of kidnapping across the state while inaugurating a commission to be headed by Justice Wada Rano to commence an inquiry into cases of missing persons from 2010 till date.

Sad How 2 Children Were Killed In A Stampede At Bihar, India


Two children were killed in a stampede at Bihar’s Aurangabad during the Chhath Puja on Saturday evening. A few people have also been reported to have suffered injuries in the incident near the Sun temple in Deb.

The police report that the incident took place when the devotees were returning after observing Chhath.

The deceased children were identified as a six-year-old boy from Patna and an 18-month-old girl from Bhojpur.

District Magistrate Rahul Ranjan Mahiwal and senior cop Deepak Barnwal met the family of the children. They said that an unexpectedly large number of devotees had turned up for the Chhath puja.

The officials have promised an ex-gratia amount to the family members of the children.

Policemen from Abuja on Saturday arrested a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Suleiman Ejeh Abutu, and six others, in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, over alleged illegal possession of firearms and ammunitions.

The development is coming on the heels of persistent fears that politicians were arming thugs ahead of the November 16 governorship election in the state.

Abutu is said to be the chairman of the security committee for the Wada/Aro campaign organisation in Dekina LGA.

The munitions were said to have been procured to unleash terror on the electorate during the election.

Pump action guns, AK-47 rifles and pistols were reportedly recovered from the suspects.

Abutu and the others arrested were said to have made useful statements to the police.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in a swift reaction, called on the people to disregard the allegations being peddled by the “APC.”

The state Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr. Hakeem Busari, said the arrest was affected by policemen from the headquarters in Abuja, “this morning,” and not policemen in the state that carried out the raid.
