NAHCON Announces deadline for the airlift of Nigerian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON, has announced the 6th of August 2019 as the deadline for the airlift of all Nigerian pilgrims.
(NAHCON) says it will ensure that it transported every Nigerian pilgrim to Saudi Arabia before the August 6 deadline given by Saudi authorities for Nigerian pilgrims.
The NAHCON’s Coordinator for the 2019 hajj, Ahmed Maigari, stated this Monday in Madinah while speaking with journalists. He stressed that the commission had so far transported more than 26,000 pilgrims from Nigeria to Madinah, adding that efforts were being intensified to transport the remaining pilgrims before the deadline.
Maigari added that the 16 hostels the commission reserved for the pilgrims from Nigeria were located near the Prophet’s mosque in Madinah, this is to reduce the stress of trekking long distances to the mosque as it was in the past.
Maigari noted that the innovation introduced four years ago, was to give the pilgrims value for their money during hajj, and it has equally cut down the use of roads and roads accident respectively.
The coordinator also caution pilgrims from using outsiders or unknown money changers, advice them to only use those who are known and authorised by the Commission.
